Scope of Work
- Compiled Health & Safety file, including Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and Programme of Works for client approval.
- Arranged and held a pre-start meeting to discuss installation.
- Following approval, arranged scaffolding to the plant room and prepared access by removing side wall air vent panel (later reinstated).
- Hired mobile crane for lifting new hot water plant into position.
- Isolated and removed one existing Andrews water heater, buffer tank, and associated pipework, then blanked off old flue system.
- Maintained continuous hot water supply by replacing water heaters sequentially.
- Supplied and installed:
- Two Andrews Supaflo Evo SF62 190kW natural gas water heaters
- Two Andrews GL500 buffer tanks
- Installed first water heater on existing base.
- Supplied and installed a new Andrews concentric flue system discharging through the external wall.
- Installed all associated pipework and fittings to:
- Connect flow and return between water heaters and buffer tanks (reusing existing pump).
- Connect boosted cold water service to buffer tanks with isolating valves.
- Connect hot water draw-off to buffer tanks with isolating valve, safety valve, and thermometer.
- Connect hot water secondary supply with new isolating valve (reusing existing secondary pumps).
- Provide new discharge pipework to drain.
- Provide condensate waste to drain.
- Connect existing gas service to new water heaters.
- Carried out electrical wiring of new water heaters and pumps to existing controls.
- Filled, tested, pre-commissioned, and chlorinated new system.
- Repeated full installation process for second water heater.
- Arranged manufacturer commissioning of both water heaters once operational.
- Applied foil-faced, Class ‘O’ phonic insulation to new and disturbed pipework.
- Hired crane to remove redundant water heaters and buffer tanks from site.
- Reinstated wall air vent panel and arranged scaffold removal.
Prepared and issued full As-Fitted Manuals including commissioning certification.
